Various Stitchery Kits That Beginners Can Use

Embroidery is a beautiful art through which many artistic designs can be created over fabrics. Previously, embroidery used to be a passion of many women, who spent their leisure time working with needles and colorful threads. Now, embroidery is taught in many schools as a part of extracurricular activities. Some young people develop a love for crafts, and they can learn this art by buying online stitchery kits. These beginners’ kits help people in gaining more interest in embroideries, as they learn to create innovative designs on cloths.

Thick Cloth:

A suitable fabric should be chosen for stitch works and commonly, white cotton is the preferred base for teaching embroidery to children and beginners. White poplin or trigger fabric may also be chosen for learning embroideries. It is better to practice this art on stiff and thick cloths, for which they need to buy suitable stitchery kits. Some schools get Styrofoam plates instead of fabrics, to teach embroideries to kids.

Vibrant Colours:

As all children love vibrant colors, it is better to give them threads of different shades to increase their interest in embroidery. So, parents should place orders for threads of colors according to the preference of their kids. The creation of designs with favorite colored threads is liked even by adult beginners of this art. It is best to order threads of at least 5 colors in stitchery kits, to create colorful combinations with simple stitches, for the enjoyment of kids.

Thick Threads:

It is seen that children find it easier to stitch with thicker threads. So, it is best to buy pearl cotton threads, which are 100% cotton 2-ply threads, which means two single thread strands are twisted together and spun into a single strand. Embroidery floss is also a good choice for beginners, in which 6 loose strands of cotton, linen, rayon, or silk are twisted together to form a single strand for easy and elevated stitches.

Needle:

A needle is an essential item for stitching. However, children can easily hurt themselves while working with needles,  hence it is wise to choose thicker needles with blunter points while choosing stitchery kits. in such cases, a tapestry needle is the best choice in this regard, which has a larger eye to pass thicker threads and also a blunt end. There are different sizes of tapestry needles and usually, many parents prefer larger sizes. If a child finds it difficult to hold a tapestry needle, thicker embroidery needles should be chosen for him/her.

An Embroidery Hoop:

It is a circular frame to hold the cloth in place while stitching. Hence, it should be included in the stitchery kits for sale, for making this work easier for kids. However, it is better to select smaller and lightweight hoops that children can handle easily without straining their tender hands.

Scissors:

They are needed to cut threads while stitching, for which it should be bought as well. Sharp scissors can cause injuries to kids, for which parents should buy smaller scissors with blunt points. Safer scissors are available for children, which can be purchased while buying specialized stitchery kits from online stores.

Baby Wipes:

A set of baby wipes or towelettes should be bought as well, to keep the hands of kids clean while learning stitches. Since children make their hands dirty very soon, parents need to wipe their hands with these disposable materials and get a pack ready at hand all the time.

Once the interest in stitches is grown in children, they find it more enjoyable work than playing video games. So, parents may also get simple embroidery books with cute designs for making their kids hooked to this creative work.
