5 Easy-breezy New Year Resolution Ideas for Moms that won’t die out

What is your new year’s resolution this year?

Most of us make a list of new year resolutions that we are so determined to follow the entire year. After a week or so though we get lazy and dump most of them. We generally get excited without being practical. We end up making difficult new years resolution ideas which become tiring to keep. I have given below a few new years resolution ideas for moms that you might find easy to keep up with.

Look after your health

Health is the most important thing in our lives. More so for a mother who has to take care of the entire family. We get so busy that most of the time we put our health on the back burner. So, the first new year’s resolution for moms is that we should make this promise to ourselves that we would take care of our health. Put in more thought while preparing food so that it fits your needs as well. There are many recipes available on the internet which caters to the requirements of a mother. Include more leafy greens, protein, calcium in your diet. Go for an annual health check-up to make sure that everything is okay. Buy specific foods which are very necessary for the well-being of a woman. You can also take vitamin supplements which provide all the nutrition that we cannot get from our food alone.

Exercise

This new year’s resolution idea for moms is, in fact, most of the time at the top of our list. We fail because we put high expectations. On the other hand, it’s better to start slow and easy. If you are already working out then you need to promise yourself to continue doing it. But if you are not, then start with half an hour of walking two to three times a week. As you get used to the habit, increase your duration as well as the variety of your workout routine. This way it will be easier to stick to this resolution. As a busy mom if we don’t get enough time to get out of the house you can do some easy mat exercises at home.

Also, for better efficiency, you can buy yourself an activity tracker like a Fitbit. These devices track the number of activities you do throughout the entire day. They keep a track of the calorie intake, calories burned as well as your heart rate. It would indeed be a good idea to buy yourself one of these as a new year’s gift. Apart from these, there are also many apps available that can be downloaded on the phone. They track your step count throughout the day. You can also keep a full note of your diet and the calories consumed.

Following a hobby

For me, it means taking out some time for myself to rejuvenate. It’s either music, dance, or books, set aside an hour or so doing something you love. This breaks the monotony of our daily lives providing us a much-needed break. If you are wondering which hobby to pick up we have made a list of hobbies for you that suits you as a homemaker. You can create a small corner for yourself in your house where you can unwind. Joining a class and learning something you had always wanted to could be a great resolution to start.

Meet your friends often/ keep in touch

Running after our own families, we forget to take out the time to meet our friends. This is one resolution I think everyone would be happy to keep. This new year let us promise to limit ourselves from the virtual world and try to meet our friends in real. So let’s take out time for people who matter to you. Even dropping a message is enough to keep the communication going on. What is important is not to lose touch with your friends. Make plans to spend a few days a month with your friends. We lose out on relationships sometimes only because we fail to plan. Procrastinating to text or call could lead to the failure of a relationship. We need friends to share our worries and happiness. Nothing could be more therapeutic than spending some time with a friend who understands you.

Take a break from the phone

This is another new years resolution idea that we need to follow. Keep away your phone for a few hours daily. Try to use this time to spend with your family. Or to follow a hobby or exercise. We are very much dependent on our phones nowadays. And this new year’s resolution would be for the good of all. An easy way to get over this dependency is to promise yourself not to engage in your phone for at least an hour after you get up. Also, keep it away in the evening when the entire family is together.

We would like to hear about your new year’s resolutions. Comment below and let us know what your new year resolutions are and how determined are you to keep them going. There is no point in making resolutions that will yield no results to you moms. So let’s try and work hard to make it an all-around goal.

Hope you all found this article helpful. Cheers to a happier year ahead! We moms deserve the best!
